Idea 1 - Branch

a) Purpose

The purpose of my first idea is to connect people and allow people to talk online while also having a nice and artistic experience. It's simple but it allows people to talk online, either to one person or in a group chat. However, I also wanted it to look nice, as just talking to people can get boring or too simple. I want people to express themselves using a tree. The more people you talk to, and the more you use the site, the bigger your tree gets. You can design it and change it. People will be able to see your tree and you can see others.

b) Format / Style

For the format and style, I would have it be very colourful. A lot of it would be down to the user designing and changing it to suit them. However, the main basic design will be a tree that will slowly grow.

c) Target Audience / Membership

The target audience would be young adults to middle-aged people. For most people who want to be able to talk to people online. A lot of younger adults these days use apps to talk to their friends. Around 99% of UK citizens aged between 16 - 24 use social network sites weekly. Twitter has around 20.9 million users, Instagram has around 16.5 million users. Almost anyone with a phone nowadays will use a form of social media site or app according to a survey by Business Insider. The survey quizzed 1512 UK adults aged 16 or older, and defined social media usage as time spent on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, or other "social media sites."  However, older people, as well as wanting to talk to people online, might also like the part where they can design their own tree and add pictures. Pictures like their family, or life stories. For membership, the longer you use the app, the bigger your tree can get, and the more trees you can make. For example, you could make a separate tree as a family tree, or have a tree devoted to your pictures.

Idea 2 - Merry

a) Purpose

The purpose of my second idea is to keep people updated on yearly events and happenings. A lot happens, both online and in real life nowadays. I think it would be nice and very useful to be updated on these things so you can see if you'd want to attend certain things or watch things.

b) Format / Style

It would be a social site with a lot of colour and a lot of design. The main theme is that it will be based around seasons and events all year round. Say for example at Christmas, the site will be lit up and full of Christmas designs and banners. As a new season or event comes up, the site will change it's designed, keeping it lively and interesting. The format will be similar to Twitter or Instagram, where you can scroll through and see lots of different notifications and events.

c) Target Audience / Membership

The target audience would be almost anyone. Young adults and above to be precise. It could be useful for teenagers if they want to keep up with TV shows or see what events are happening. Or it could be useful for older people if they just want to be informed about season related events taking place like a charity meet up or say at Christmas a church event in their nearby town. Twitter, for example, has over 20.9 million users. A lot of people use Twitter to be kept updated on current world events or nearby events. For example, the account BBC News posts updates and new reports of current events happening all over the world. This is seen as useful and clearly helps as the account BBC News (World) has over 23.9 million followers. This is just for an account, for a website devoted to keeping you updated, the app could pull in a lot of people and be extremely useful for anyone who wants to be kept update.

Idea 3 - Pup

a) Purpose

The purpose of my third idea is to allow people to share their pets, specifically dogs. Almost everyone has a dog as a pet these days, or at least it's very popular. Peoplikeiek to see others dogs and learn more about how to train and give their dogs a better life. The site would allow people to talk to each other about how they trained their dogs. It would also have a feature that can take a picture of a dog or use a picture of a dog to find the breed, and where you can buy one.

b) Format / Style

The format would be simple but pretty. I would have the site be bright and full of artistic pictures of animals, especially dogs. Again, similar to Twitter and Instagram, you would be able to scroll.swipe down to see uploads of pictures and information. There would also be clickable parts of the screen to take you to more detailed information pages. There would be a home menu to select what mode of the ap you were using, (taking a picture, uploading an image, main feed (other users uploads), or private messaging).

c) Target Audience / Membership

The target audience would be for people around 20s to any age. Basically for anyone who's at the age where they can comfortably look after a dog of their own. however it could also branch out to younger users as their family could have a dog, or they just want to look at pictures of dogs, as they can be cute or satisfying to look at. A lot of people in the UK and around the world have dogs as pets. As of 2018, 51 million people own pets. The most popular pet in the United Kingdom is the dog, with 26 per cent of people owning one. A lot of people want to get dogs, according to the survey carried out by Statista, and a lot of people have dogs but aren't quite sure how to train them. It's a common fact that a lot of dog owners can have enough or get frustrated because they're not sure how to look after their dog properly, or don't have the time to look after it. Approximately 7.6 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year. Of those, approximately 3.9 million are dogs. I want the app to help people learn new tips and tricks and stop pets being abandoned, while also allowing people to happily communicate and have a good time with their beloved pet.
